The American Society for Gravitational and Space Research Announces Leadership Transition
[Loma Linda, CA] — [May 27, 2025] — The ASGSR announces that Executive Director Paul Secor will conclude his tenure with the organization when his contract expires next month (6/30/2025). This difficult decision comes as the organization prepares to navigate new strategic priorities in response to an evolving funding landscape as NASA priorities shift with the current administration and Mr. Secor seeks to rebalance his professional commitments.
“I loved serving this organization. I really believe in its mission to advance reduced gravity research and think it is critical to NASA’s Artemis mission, as well as the overall NASA technology portfolio,” stated Secor. “Unfortunately, the part-time Executive Director role became increasingly challenging to dedicate the time it deserved, while at the same time serving new and changing client demands at my business. I will be rooting for its success and helping in the transition in whatever way I can.”
Mr. Secor has served as Executive Director since 2021, playing a key role during a period of remarkable growth and stability. Under his leadership, the Society expanded its membership base and achieved several years of financial success. His dedication and contributions have helped position the organization as a respected voice in the field.
The upcoming leadership change reflects the Board’s commitment to adapt to the current economic and political climate, particularly in light of tightening federal science budgets and uncertainty surrounding NASA’s funding priorities. The ASGSR Governing Board has begun the process of identifying new leadership that will continue advancing the Society’s mission while responding proactively to the challenges ahead.
