Undergraduate and Graduate Student Support Opportunity: ASGSR 2026 Annual Meeting
Help Make the 42nd Annual ASGSR Meeting a Success! ASGSR needs student support to help the 42nd Annual ASGSR Meeting run smoothly, and this year, we need you! Join us in Crystal City, Virginia, December 2–5, 2026, and be part of the team behind the scenes.
Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a returning ASGSR student member, supporting is a great way to get involved, meet fellow scientists, and give back to the ASGSR community.
What You’ll Do
Supporters are the friendly faces who help attendees, speakers, and exhibitors have a great Annual Meeting experience. Responsibilities may include:
- Staffing the registration desk and welcoming attendees
- Running microphones for audience Q&A during talks and panel discussions
- Helping speakers and moderators transition between talks
- Supporting poster sessions and the art competition
- Providing general attendee support throughout the venue
We’re looking for support the day before the Annual Meeting starts and each day of the Annual Meeting. Please note: To give as many students as possible the opportunity to participate, each supporter may sign up for one shift. Priority will be given to students who are not receiving other ASGSR awards.

Proper Annual Meeting Attire
For plenary sessions, poster sessions, and the reception dinner, attire is business casual. Think slacks, dresses, blouses, tailored shirts, sweaters, jackets, and dress shoes. Aim for something professional and comfortable — you’ll be on your feet and networking across multiple days.
Posters and Competition
The Annual Meeting includes student poster sessions and competitions — a great opportunity to share your research, get feedback from the ASGSR community, and connect with researchers in your field. More details on how to participate will be added soon.

STEAM Foundation Support for Annual Meeting Attendance
The ASGSR STEAM Foundation offers support to help students attend and present at the Annual Meeting. Check back here for application details as they become available.

Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition
Each year at the ASGSR Annual Meeting, undergraduate and graduate students are invited to compete in the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. The challenge: present your research clearly and compellingly — in just three minutes. It’s a great way to sharpen your communication skills and share your work with the broader ASGSR community.
