Assistant/Associate Professor in Exercise Physiology 

Emphasis in Skeletal Muscle or Mitochondrial Physiology  

Position: The Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University invites applications for  Tenure Track Faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Exercise Physiology with a primary  area of emphasis in skeletal muscle or mitochondrial physiology. We seek candidates with a strong,  established or emerging independent research record with expertise that can include, but is not limited to:  aging/lifespan, human performance, inflammation/oxidative stress, metabolic disease, nutrition and  exercise, rehabilitative/regenerative medicine, and space life science. Candidates are expected to hold a  doctoral degree (postdoctoral preferred) in kinesiology or a related academic discipline that enhances the  department’s excellent research portfolio. The successful candidate will be expected to have a productive  record publishing in high impact peer-review journals and have secured or demonstrate the potential to  secure extramural funding. It is expected that the successful candidate will be active in cross-disciplinary  research across areas of excellence at Texas A&M University, and will be an integral part of the Kinesiology  faculty, including avidly pursuing and obtaining extramural funding, teaching and mentoring graduate and  undergraduate students, and engagement in appropriate service. Texas A&M is a flagship land, sea, and  space grant university, and is ranked 20th in the nation for research expenditures ($952M in FY19) by NSF,  and 11th among US public universities. The department is located on Texas A&M’s West Campus and  boasts 15 research laboratories, 4 centers and institutes, including state-of-the-art human clinical research  and wet lab facilities.
