Nominations are Open for the ASGSR Governing Board

We are now accepting nominations for the ASGSR Board! The ASGSR provides a forum to foster research, education, and professional development in the multidisciplinary fields of gravitational life and physical sciences research. ASGSR brings together a diverse group of scientists and engineers to encourage an exchange of ideas that bridge basic and applied biological and physical sciences research and technology in space and on the ground. 

The Vision of ASGSR is to advance biological and physical sciences research in, of, and for space by bringing together professional communities spanning gravitational biology, radiation biology, physical sciences, bioastronautics and astrobiology, and mentoring the future scientific and engineering leaders in these fields. Serving as an ASGSR Board Member is an excellent way to get involved in the Society and to help shape the future of our society whilst furthering our combined vision and goals. 

ASGSR Board Members:

  • Serve 3-year terms 
  • Participate in in-person Spring and Fall Board Meetings
  • Participate in monthly teleconferences
  • Advocate for our Society and space research to members of Congress during the Spring Board Meeting in Washington, DC
  • Participate in key decision-making processes that will shape the future of our Society 
  • Actively contribute to ASGSR committees

To serve on the ASGSR Board, you must 

  • Be a Regular, Retired, or Lifetime member for at least 3 years
  • Have attended the ASGSR meeting in at least 3 of the last 5 years
